| | | | | | | | | Burns Night at the Lodge of Warwick - January 2006
As in previous years members of the Lodge of Warwick annual Burns’ Night Evening was a very popular event. Friends and non-masons were invited to attend as guests for the dinner and a traditional evening of Scottish entertainment , poetry, wonderful food and a wee dram ! | | | | | | |
| The sound of the bagpipes filled the building as the Piper accompanied the Master to the panelled dining room.
The Haggis was "piped in" and paraded around the table in traditional fashion after which drams of whisky were brought round as the Haggis was being served.
A packed dining room sat down to a very fine dinner of Cock-a-leekie soup, Haggis & Neeps followed by Roast Beef.
Many Scottish members in the Lodge involved themselves in the evenings proceedings. The traditional "Address to the Haggis" was rendered in authentic Scottish style along with the " Address to the Skin" . A further toast was also given to " The Immortal Memory of Robbie Burns."
The evening was rounded off with more Burns poetry. Several members chose to wear their Kilts in their respective Tartan for the evening which added to the spectacle of what was another great and memorable success.
