The Lodge of Instruction ( LOI ) is an additional teaching class where Members are invited to attend practice meetings in a more informal manner than our regular Lodge meetings.
These evenings are under the supervision of two experienced Teachers or 'Preceptors' .Meetings take no more than 90 minutes and are followed by an even more informal drink in the bar afterwards.
The Lodge of Instruction allows Junior members practice Lodge work and helps gain experience and confidence.
The LOI is currently having a sabbatical and notice will be given when it is about to resume.
Usually each September the Lodge of Instruction reaches its climax when Brethren put on a demonstration of a formal Lodge meeting.
After the meeting there is a Dinner known as the Festival Supper again observing all the customs and practices of the Lodge including a Charity collection.
The evening is always happy and relaxed drawing Masonic visitors from many parts and all are welcome.
This event is traditionaly the first meeting of the Lodge following the Summer recess and a prelude to the main Lodge Season which resumes again in October each year .
